The Barcelona Graduate School of Economics is an institution for scientific cooperation for research and graduate education in economics and the social sciences. The Barcelona GSE community constitutes one of the leading clusters of economics research in Europe and worldwide. In 2011, Research Papers in Economics (RePEc) ranked Barcelona GSE #3 among top European institutions and #18 among the top economic research centers in the world for scientific output.

Barcelona GSE contributes to the Center for Research on the Economies of the Mediterranean:

  Through the expertise and international standing of its affiliated professors and founding academic bodies.

This facilitates contacts at the highest level with the best-known and strongest academic institutions, departments, and researchers. The high-power Scientific Council of the school constitutes a leading instance of this fostering of international projection and networking opportunities dimension.
