December 2011	The Call for Papers for the III Workshop on Economics of the Mediterranean closed on December 31, 2011 The CREMed Academic Director, Professor José García-Montalvo has been named the Vice President of Science Policy of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) Congratulations to Professor Chahir Zaki of Cairo University, Winner of the CREMed Best Paper Award 2011, and to Ms. Serena Canaan, of UC Santa Barbara, Winner of the first CREMed Best Student Paper Award.
November 2011	CREMed Research Project "International trade, transport and the environment in the Euro-Med Area" is completed with two new papers added to the CREMed Working Paper Series. Congratulations to the Project leaders Sami Bensassi and Inmaculada Martínez-Zarzoso. Project executive summary here.
October 2011	CREMed Research Affiliates Francesco Fasani, Gino Gancia, and Núria Rodríguez participate in a round-table discussion on "The Importance of Migration Flows". The roundtable took place within the annual Barcelona GSE "trobada" and was co-organized with the Barcelona GSE and IAE. CREMed Partner, the Barcelona GSE, receives the distinguished Severo Ochoa award, recognizing it as one of 8 top international research centers in Spain. CREMed Research Affiliate Marta Reynal-Querol is awarded the Banco Herrero Prize for her innovative research on economics, ethnic diversity and civil conflict

June 2011	CREMed is host to the 10th International Conference of the Middle East Economics Association (MEEA) CREMed celebrates the II Workshop on Economics of the Mediterranean, event co-organized with the European Institue - LSE
January 2011	Dr. Mustapha Nabli, of the CREMed Scientific Advisory Council is named Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia The Call for Papers released for the CREMed Best Paper 2011 and the first CREMed Best Student Paper Award
